Your Hohm Energy Report
Once you sign up for Hohm, we’ll ask you to answer a short set of questions about your home and your energy use. From just a few key facts- such as the zip code where you live, the size of your home, and the year it was built- we create a personalized Hohm energy report for you. As you can see below, the Hohm Center provides you with an overview of your annual energy usage and how your home energy costs match up to other homes in your area. In addition, from the Hohm Center you can enter your actual electricity usage- either by connecting automatically to your energy provider (currently available to the more than four million customers served by Xcel Energy, Seattle City Light and the Sacramento Municipal Utility District) or by manually entering in your usage.
By clicking on the Recommendations tab, you’ll go to a page where we show you a detailed breakdown of ways you can start saving energy and money. You can easily sort your personalized recommendations by the do-it-yourself cost, annual savings, or annual benefit. The more detail you share about your home and your energy usage in your Home Profile, the more personalized we can make your recommendations. From here, you can create “to do” lists and easily track your progress on saving energy and money.
By clicking on the energy report link under the Recommendations tab, you’ll open up a page that summarizes your energy usage and our recommendations for how you could save energy and money. This page also gives you more detailed information and instructions on how to implement the recommendations that Hohm provides you.
In addition to our recommendations, we also offer a library where you can browse all of our available energy-saving recommendations. This is a great resource for learning more about energy and money-saving topics.
The Hohm Energy Report is all about empowering consumers with information on how to save money and energy. We also recognize that it’s the first step in an exciting journey together. We’re excited about the reaction we’ve had from our community to date, and we welcome your thoughts and ideas on how to make Hohm even better. You should give us a try!
